In Middle Egypt, you’ll visit less-traveled locations like the Tombs of Beni Hasan and the ancient city of Tell el Amarna, followed by the sacred site of Tuna el Gebel. From there, head south to explore the temples of Abydos and Dendera before arriving in Luxor. Here, you’ll visit the expansive Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and the Valley of the Kings, where Egypt’s most famous pharaohs are buried.

After experiencing the splendor of Luxor, embark on a serene Nile cruise or sail in a traditional Dahabiya, stopping at historic temples like those of Edfu and Kom Ombo. From Giza to Abu Simbel via Middle Egypt

Day 1: Arrive in Cairo

Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you’ll be greeted by a representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Saqqara and Dahshur

Explore Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid Complex of King Djoser, the first large-scale stone structure in history, including a visit inside the pyramid. Continue to the Pyramid of King Unas, famous for the earliest known theological writings. After lunch at a local restaurant, head to Dahshur to see the Red and Bent Pyramids, the first smooth-sided pyramids built by King Snefru, father of King Khufu.

Day 3: Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum

Visit the Giza Pyramids, including access to the Great Pyramid of King Khufu. Take in the Pyramid Complex and the iconic Sphinx. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum. If it’s not open, you’ll explore the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square.

Day 4: Alexandria and the National Museum

Day 5: Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, and Kom El Dikka

Day 6: Medieval Cairo

Day 8: Tell el Amarna

Day 9: Tuna el Gebel

Visit Tuna el Gebel, known for the Sacred Animal Catacombs and the tomb of Petosiris. After lunch, transfer to Abydos for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Abydos and Dendera Temples

Day 11: Karnak, Luxor Museum, and Luxor Temple

Day 12: Kings Valley, Hatshepsut Temple, and Nobles' Tombs

Day 14: Nile Sailing
